I suck at blogging
Sorry y'all. I promise to be better in the new year. I'm considering going to vlogging. Thoughts? Let me know if you'd watch rather than read.

Fitness Goals. Summer Edition.
Hey all.
I know that I haven't been on here in a long, L.O.N.G. time.. So, here's an update on my life. I currently weigh 224 lbs. (when I weighed in this morning).. I had gotten down to 220 after a bout of serious stomach flu, but then had a tough time keeping it off as most of it was water weight. I kept 3 lbs off however! Yay!
As I believe I've mentioned before, my ultimate goal weight is 160 lbs. That means I have about 60ish lbs to lose. With that being said, I would like to update my short term goals.
1. Lose 2 lbs a week.
2. Work out for at least 20 min. 6 days a week.
3. Eat better (more fruits and vegetables. no fried foods. etc.)
4. Run for 15 minutes at least once a week working on decreasing time and increasing stamina in preparation for running my first 5k on July 5th.
5. I will blog here at least once a week.
With these new goals, it would make the date to reach my goal weight January 26, 2014. That would mean I'd be pretty stinking close by Christmas.. 10 lbs away exactly. This is if I don't ever gain and meet my 2 lb weight loss every week. So, to factor in realistic expectations of not meeting weight loss goals every week and possible holiday set backs as well as the fact that losing weight gets harder as you go along.. My goal is to get down to 160 lbs or less by my 24th birthday. That is March 15, 2014.
Wish me luck. Send me prayers. Encourage me tons. This will be a long journey of 6 - 8 months. Your help and encouragement is always lovely to hear.
Until next time,
Liz

My Heart
Gotta write this down before I forget. I'm getting healthier! You may think "duh", but let me explain. I went grocery shopping and they had one of those blood pressure taker things. (Who can resist those right?) So, I took my BP. Low. Good. However, it also took my pulse. At first I thought I read it wrong. Does that really say what I think it says? 78?! That is the lowest my pulse has been in who knows how long! Then today whilst trekking my way along on the elliptical, I check my pulse 173. Ok that's normal, but then I go to cool down and check my pulse a couple minutes into my cool down. 98?! My heart is so strong that it doesn't have to beat as hard to pump my blood! Also, I did the elliptical on 7 incline instead of 5 today. Boom! Good news is, I'm healthier. Bad news is, I'm gonna have to amp up my workout regimen. Now I can sleep. Later y'all.

I love working out
There… it's out there. I said it. Ha. I am a huge fan of working out. In fact, I almost always feel better after hitting the elliptical at the gym. (Which I have worked myself up to doing for a full 30 minutes!!) My only problem is finding someone to go with me. I am an extremely social person and do better when I have a workout buddy. Someone to keep me accountable. How about you? Do you prefer company or flying solo?
P.s. so many people have been calling me skinny this week! I love it!

Post-holiday Updates..
Wow! It's been over a month since I have updated my fitness blog???? INCONCEIVABLE! or rather UNACCEPTABLE! I'm so sorry for the people who have been checking in and finding nothing but old updates. So here's my life in a quick run-down before I lose the motivation to go and shower after my hour long workout with the one, the only Bob Harper (via DVD sadly.. or maybe not so sadly after watching Biggest Loser last night ha)
I currently weight 229 lbs which actually makes me ecstatic since like almost every human being I picked up some holiday poundage.. I went up to about 237ish.. When I went back to my regular dieting and exercising (thanks in part to my sister and my new iPhone which helps me to keep track of what I'm eating better thanks to my myfitnesspal app [shameless shoutouts]) I lost 2 lbs the first week and then 6 the next (Here's hoping for another big success this week *fingers crossed*).
I have mostly been doing my workouts at home lately because they're easier to fit in that way, but I will be going back to the gym starting January 21st. I will also be dragging my mom along for the journey. Yay family workout! If only we could convince my dad that the gym after work is not completely awful... we'll see.
I found this picture on the Biggest Loser facebook page. This is one of my favorite quotes so far this season (given there have been a lot). This is my new fitness mantra. I am going to be working out at least once every weekday for 30 to 45 minutes of cardio at the gym. I am going to try to be under my calories allotted every day. Eventually, I would like to do a strength workout as well as cardio every weekday. Weekends I haven't quite figured out yet... (hey I'm a work in progress.. what're you gonna do?)
I am also going to be taking monthly progress pictures. Considering one of my new year's resolutions is to lose at least 60 lbs... they should be pretty drastic. Plus, I think it'd be cool to have 12 progress photos at the end of the year instead of the huge before and after. Hopefully, it'll also help with motivation. I tend to not notice how well I've done until I've seen myself in a picture.. Lately I looked at a picture of myself and said "Wow! I look skinny!" Then proceeded to make it every one of my profile pictures :).
So, here you have it. January..(I apologize for my messy room.....wish I could say it was clean now..)
Until next time..
